Right, it’s Christmas Eve, and we have tonnes to do as we are hosting the event for the family again! Daddy Dave and DP were sent for “the messages” — that is to say, to the shops. They planned to go to the recycle bins, grab all the last minute groceries on my written down list, and — most importantly — collect the turkey from the butcher. I wasn’t going to take the chance on a near-disaster like we did last year.
Daddy Dave said the wee fellah went to sleep while the car was defrosting, so DP’s had a good nap and everything went according to plan. The bird has landed. Relax. A bit.
Obviously the kids are excited, but they went to bed quite well considering. Before they went to bed we put out a wee drinkypoo for Santa, (with a mince pie) — and a carrot for Rudolph. It is the first thing they check on Christmas morning!
As soon as they were asleep, we moved tables, prepp’d food and placed the gifts. Shattered now, we are hitting the hay!
