Health & Safety Test 2011/07/18

My CSCS card came though at last — I sat the Construction Skills Certification Scheme health and safety test for UK construction sites when my old one ran out after five years, so that’s me sorted out for another five — and THIS time my photo actually looks like me (gorgeous) LOL.

I need this so I can attend meetings on construction sites, and so that I can take sizes and check workmanship (as well as safe working practices).

I studied for the test in a softplay in East Kilbride.  That was scary; it’s filled with scaffolding and had small children wandering about among tall adults carrying trays of hot food and drinks!  I wanted ear defenders, I needed a hard hat! How we got out alive is anyone’s guess!

The test was the following day at 08:00, and was a breeze — even at that early hour. In and out and back to work. Bish bash bosh. Cost me just under £70 mind you, but there’s no avoiding it.
