Years ago, when Daddy Dave first bought our home, he got four big aerials installed on a mast. This was before digital and even Channel Five!
He’s not one for watching TV, so, a few years ago, when Freeview came out I talked him into getting a freeview box and a digital aerial for the drawing room (where the main telly is). He was not interested in replacing all the aerials.
This meant that we couldn’t get Channel Five or Free digital on the kitchen (it as an old CRT set with built-in VCR!), So just before Christmas I talked him into replacing this set with a flat LCD TV with built-in Freeview and DVD. (more…)

The media keeps telling us that the weather is terrible, but it’s not our experience! Don’t get me wrong, it’s been cold, and the snow that fell a couple of days before Christmas is still with us, it’s just that it has not been all that bad! (more…)

We were really looking forward to this afternoon’s “Standard Life: Let it Snow” at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, presented by “wacky” percussionists Owen Gunnell and Olly Cox.
The Orchestra of Scottish Opera conducted by Gavin Sutherland with the help of the Manor School of Ballet and members of Les Sirenes female choir– oh, and a special guest star — the fabulous Nicola Benedetti. (more…)
